 Mr. Zhang Hongyi was born in Tianjin in Aug 1945. He graduated from Beijing Foreign Trade University major in Foreign Trade and Economics in 1969. He entered Bank of China Guangzhou Branch after graduation, had held different positions as deputy chief and chief of division of international settlement division, executive division etc. He joined Chinese communist party in April 1978. He was selected to learn in Bank of China London Branch for two years from 1979. In June 1982, he was transferred to Bank of China Shenzhen Branch, held position of Deputy Chief of Executive Office, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Shenzhen Branch. In 1983, he was entitled to be economist, and became part-time associate professor of Wuhan University in 1984. Bank of China Shenzhen Branch was praised and asked to give speech on National Trade Union and People’s Bank of China head office meetings due to its excellence in senior managers selecting and team building. He was appointed as Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen municipal government, in charge of treasury, financial institutions, state assets management, foreign affairs and ports management.
He was transferred to Bank of China head office in May 1995, and was appointed as Deputy Chief of Bank of China Hongkong and Macau Regional Office in July at the same year. During his position in Hongkong, he also held the following positions: president of Nanyang Commercial bank, president of Huaqiao Commercial bank etc. He was also invited to be Deputy head of Hongkong Banking Association, Hongkong and a member of European Economic Cooperation Committee, director and executive member of Hongkong Chest Funds, etc. In Nov.1996, he was entitled senior economist, part-time professor of People’s Bank of China graduate department in July 1996, and permanent senior member of Hongkong Banking Association.
In May 2001, he was transferred to be general manager of Bank of China Macau Branch. And holding posts of managing director of Tai Feng Bank, Chairman of Macau Nam Tung(Macau) Investment Ltd, Chairman of Nan Tung Bank Ltd, Zhuhai, Chairman of the Macau Association of Banks, Vice Chairman of the Macau Chinese Enterprises Association, Member of AMCM Advisory Council, Vice President of Macau Institute of financial Services ect.
